Premiere: Nicole McKinney - Honey Be Good

APril 1st 2019

Nicole McKinney is a 21 year old singer/song-writer from the Sunshine Coast. Her debut single, ‘Honey Be Good’, is coming out this Wednesday the 3rd of April and we have the pleasure of being the first to share it with you.

‘Honey Be Good’ was written when Nicole was 16, amidst the chaos of her teenage years. It’s about losing track of who you are and how difficult it can be to believe in yourself during trivial times.

“This song means so much to me as I wrote it in one of the most defining periods of my life so far. I really hope that people connect with this song the way I do.”

Honey Be Good is nostalgic, warm and hopeful. It’s for those who need reminding that everything falls into place when you are true to yourself.

Catch Nicole at her single release show THIS Wednesday.

Premiere: Venice on Fire - Nov 2

March 5th 2019

Reunions with ex-lovers are more than often – if not always – unpleasant. A tale of this uncomfortable scenario is told in Queensland alt-rock trio, Venice on Fire’s, forthcoming single ‘Nov 2.’ Tomorrow, THURSDAY, March 7th, this raw and melodic single will be released to the rest of the world. But for now, check out the premiere video with the passionate and energetic fellas of Venice on Fire.

“Nov 2” is not about a particular situation any of the individuals in the band have experienced but rather, a story they collectively came up embodying emotions and feelings the trio have shared.

Lead guitarist and singer Tom Gillespie says, “We love telling stories, and I feel most people have felt these emotions at some point.”

“The girl in this story bails the guy up – he’s called Benny in this – and demands explanations for past wrongs, which I think is fair,” continues Tom, “he then responds with a whole bunch of weasel words, which could be considered an explanation, and it explodes in this fiery argument.”

“Nov 2’ is loud, exciting and catchy. Fans of Aussie legends, Violent Soho, DZ Deathray and Bugs will fall in love with this new tune, and in turn, become new fans of Queensland’s hidden alt-rock gems, Venice on Fire.

Catch Venice on Fire this Friday, March 8th at Brisbane’s Crowbar.
